Biography

Born in Bradford in the Summer of Love, Brendan managed to get himself on the escape committee for the tunnel South in 1997. Having won his freedom when the tunnel came up in Bath, he then decided to make his mark through 'pop poetry'. After years of trial and error, heckling and rowdiness, Brendan managed to establish himself as a performance poet and reinvented himself as "Brendan the Pop Poet".

After performing on many stages and working many crowds, Brendan finally felt the time had come for him to chase the greatest prize of all: the much coveted title of "Bard of Bath". The year was 2001 and the Winter Solstice was fast approaching. Julian, the previous Bard, had decided on this year's theme for the Battle of the Bards "The Many Layers of the Juicy Bath Onion". Undaunted by this mighty task, Brendan locked himself in his bedroom for five days, living off only diet coke and pizza. He managed to delve deeper into Bath's tortured soul than ever dreamed possible. What he came up with and what ultimately won the title "Bard of Bath" was dark, dangerous and unpublishable, but he knew it had to be told.
